Help Shape the Future of Achilles Tendon Recovery

Many people with Achilles tendinopathy struggle to find treatments that support recovery without restricting movement or relying on medication. Incrediwear garments are non-compressive and drug-free socks and ankle sleeves that incorporate therapeutic semiconductor materials within the fabric.

When worn, the semiconductor elements are activated by the body's natural heat. This activation is intended to emit infrared waves, as well as negative ions, during normal daily activity. These signals influence circulation, inflammation, and pain-related pathways within the body.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate how this wearable technology may support tendon recovery and symptom improvement in individuals with Achilles tendinopathy.

Achilles pain can be frustrating, persistent, and limiting, especially if you enjoy running, sport, or simply staying active.

By taking part, you are not just testing a new approach, you are helping advance better, safer treatment options for people living with Achilles tendinopathy.

Why take part?

Contribute to innovative musculoskeletal research

Gain detailed insight into your tendon health

Support the development of future non-invasive treatments

Access wearable intervention that fits into normal day routines

*While individual benefit cannot be guaranteed, participation offers early access to a promising, low-risk approach under a formal research protocol.*

Participation is entirely voluntary, and all assessments are conducted under an approved research protocol.

Your Commitment

During the study, you will:

  • Wear the provided semiconductor-embedded garments as instructed
    • Day garment: ankle sleeve
    • Night garment: therapy sock
  • Complete short online questionnaires
  • Attend scheduled follow-up visits
  • Travel to Lincolnshire for two Open MRI scans

There is no surgery, medication, or injections involved in the study.

Ethical Approval

This study has been reviewed and approved by a UK Research Ethics Committee and the Health Research Authority (HRA).

This ensures the study meets all national standards for participant safety, data protection, and ethical conduct.

You will receive full written information and have the opportunity to ask questions before deciding to take part.
